In our area, many non profits and state have group homes or employ people for one on one counseling. I don't think this is nationwide, but check out Melwood. But I did a lot of research and found out that almost all jobs in social work require at least a bachelor's degree....and some even a masters! Even for a drug and alcohol counselor ( which only pays about $27k ) you need bachelor'sr's degree. I can't get my bachelor's so therefore I had to switch my major. Good luck though!
