I read in a couple places that said some places will hire even though they have no experience? Will some companies pay for certification?

Retail pharmacies are more lenient in their hiring practices (i.e. Walmart), so your best chance are with them. Walgreens will do on-the-job training and pay for your PTCB examination. I do not believe Rite Aid has a program like that.
Hospitals, definately not. You need to be a CPhT with experience.
I work in a hospital and I am not certified- it depends on the hospital. I suggest you volunteer for a month in a hospital to get the experience you need and then apply for jobs- that’s what I did. The certification exam is very hard unless you go to school for it or have experience so your main focus should be volunteering- they love that. Hospitals love volunteers. If you show up ready to work hard and learn quickly they will want to hire you- or usually they know someone else who needs a tech.
retail pharmacies usually train you on the spot and certify you i think, but every store/hospital has their own policies. Experience/certification is not necessary, but if you are going into retail then you should ask them if it is necessary.
some companies/hospitals will pay for the certification, although it isn’t necessary. especially for retail- they dont mix IV bags or compound anything as far as I know. Also by law all pharmacy technicians need to be registered by november, this costs 220 dollars…it’s a new law.
