I just finished my Freshman year at the University of Missouri and i am currently undecided major. I have thought about it recently and i think i would like to be a Pharmacist but when i looked on the schools website i didnt see any type of Pharmaceutical programs. Upon further research on the internet i read that there is 2-3 years of pre-requisite courses and then you will hopefully be accepted into a school of pharmacy after that for 4 more years, is this true?If so, I was hoping i could take these at Mizzou but like i said i didnt see anything that had to do with pharmacy on our web site. So what should i do at this point if i think i want to pursue a career as a pharmacist? Should i just not go back to the University next year and lose those credit hours that i have worked so hard for and paid a lot of money for?

I was wanting to be a pharmacist and wanted to work in a pharmacy to see if this is what I would for sure want to go into. How do you go about becoming a pharmacy tech in Missouri? Do I have to have school for this because I was wanting to work this summer in a pharmacy. Also, does it matter that I am young (18 yrs old) compared to someone older when getting a job as a tech?
How hard is it to become one?

Reaching the end of my high school career, I’ve come to a fork-in-the-road. I know that I want to eventually become a physician and I will spend my first two years on a full ride scholarship program at a community college. I’m currently enrolled in missouri’s Primo/ACES program which pays $5,000/year for undergraduate education and $20,000/year for graduate. The catch is that it will only pay for a degree in primary health-care (not PharmD). My other option is to take the two years at the community college, attend pharmacy school (graduate with a PharmD), and, while working as a pharmacist, continue on to med school for the last two years. The disadvantage being that I am no longer eligible for the $100,000 scholarship (Primo/ACES) but I will have a PharmD and a MD. Can anyone who is better informed give me some advice. I am certain that I want to go into medicine whether it be primary or secondary, I have yet to decide.

I am seriously considering a change of major/career and school, as I am starting to believe pharmacy is not going to make me happy, as I can’t just give up on my passion for horses.
What do you know about their Equine Science/Equine Administration majors, barn, horses, showing, etc.? What is your overall opinion; is it worth it, and a good program?
I remember once quite a while ago I met some of their students/horses at the St. Louis National Charity horse show, and they all seemed very pleased with the program and the opportunities it gave them, but it was quite some time ago.
Otherwise, suggest other Missouri colleges that offer a better Equine Science program, or Midwest colleges that offer it with inexpensive tuition?
I am looking at William Woods because it is in-state and I believe I would be qualified after my transfer for quite a bit of scholarships and transfer credit. I think with my previous credits from KU I would be able to complete the degree in 4 semesters as well.

Or
2. Go to a school near my home, get a bachelor’s degree then transfer to pharmacy school, which would require an interview. The shortest amount of time to complete everything would be 7 years, but admission to pharm. school is not guarenteed. However, I would be with my family.

Hi,
I work at Schnucks Pharmacy in Saint Louis, Missouri. As a lot of people know that Schnucks has union rules and benefits, but to tell you the truth that I am not getting my break at all and we don’t have 30 mins break period as Target does. So, basically nobody in my pharmacy ask for a break. I do know that break is my right and that union cut off money from my pay check every week. So, my question is what should I do next? should I start asking for break no matter how busy it is or just forget it as I am doing it now
P.S: Now I weight 80 LBS and when I did not work at the pharmacy my weight was 100 LBS. I do feel hungry all the time but it’s just that we are busy and plus we don’t have many people up there to work. Overall, I am working for 8 hours then I think I should get a break?
oh well…I also go to school too and I do feel very hungry. Someone please help me
