I’d imagine it’s similar to undergraduate college admissions, where GPA plays a major role but the college realizes that every GPA is different depending on the school. Extracurriculars and leadership would probably play the same role as boosting factors, but I think if you have some scientific research experience under your belt it could even make up for a not so great GPA. Even bigger bonus points if you can get published in a scientific journal.
I’ve done my research into CA pharmacy schools though, and avg GPA always seems to be around 3.5-3.6, then you also have to impress at the interviews and everything. It’s very competitive and you’ll need to work hard to make sure you stand out (in a good way) in your extracurriculars, possible research, essays, recommendations, and interviews.
There is no easy college to get into when it comes to pharmacy. All the schools have demanding programs. The two most popular ones that I know is LIU and St. John’s.
