Do I Have To Go To School To Become A Certified Pharmacy Technician In Georgia?

This Question Is From: Pharmacy Technician Schools in Georgia and has 3 Answers

I have been on several sites including the Secretary of State and ptcb.org site but I cannot find a site that tells me specifically if I have to go to school to become a certified pharmacy tech or if I can just buy a study guide and take the exam. Thanks in advance for your responses.

My sister is a pharmacy manager in Georgia and she never made any mention of her technicians requiring to pass a certification for a pharmacy tech. If you’re looking for an opportunity at pharmacy, make sure your resume shows some experience of experience with customers and professional skills. Reading up on prescription drugs is a good start and should help you out. Hopefully my brief answer helps you.

I dont know about georgia, but any walmart will hire someone with no training to work in a pharmacy. They will train you, then send you to your state’s exam to get your certification (although they wont pay for it). You get a huge pay raise with your certification, almost the top of thier pay scale. It actually pays very well. If you chose, you can go elsewhere to work after that, but in my area other chain pharmacies arenn’t paying as well.
