This Question Is From: Pharmacy Technician Schools in Michigan and has 5 Answers
I have a full-time job that I work from 8:00a.m -4:00p.m from Monday – Friday. and I want to attend school to become a Pharmacy Technician, but the Pharmacy Technicaian program is from 5:30p.m. to 10:30p.m Monday-Thursday. I don’t see how i will have anytime to do my school work if I’m working and attending school full-time. Every other school near where I live only offers this Pharmacy Technican program in the day time when I have to be at work. This is the only school that offers the this program in the evenings and because the economy is so bad in Michigan I can’t afford to quit my job and get a part-time job without having another job to fall back on. What would you do if you were me? Also do you think it is a good idea to pay $8000 for a Pharmacy Technician program?

the investment will be worth it in the improved life you will have in the long run.
you may also look into scholarships or loans.
you can study during your lunch hour and you will just learn to be an effective studier and make the most of your time -even if it means putting in a lot of hours on the weekends
you can do it
good luck
If you think that you can handle the load, then go for it. But from what I’ve gathered you wouldn’t like to leave your job, so I would suggest to go to school part-time. Usually college students either have a full-time job and go to school part-time or they go to school full-time and work part-time. I’ve never met anyone who has gone to school full-time with a full-time job.
Am I correct in thinking the Pharmacy Tech programs are 1 years in length?
If that is so, I would think that you would probably be able to work for your first semester while going to school. During the second semester you should be able to find a job more appropriate to your chosen profession that would probably pay better allowing you to cut the number of hours you need to work.
8K is not a lot to spend if it is a job you are very interested in as a career.
I am including a couple links with job opportunities and salary information for Pharmacy Techs in Michigan that might help you make your choice.
lots of people do it you will study til 1 or 2 in the morining and be tired at work you will spend your weekends reading and or sleeping and never see your friends or family but in the end you will have a degree and hopefully a better job . I had to do the same thing
As long as you have the kind of job that does not require you to do anything outside the 8-4pm time frame, I say go for it. I am all about people trying to better themselves, You can do it, it will be hard…..but it will be worth it when your done with the program. Best of luck to you!!!!!
