okay i’m going to ohio and i’m going there for trade school so i can be a pharmacy techinican. but i never left the state without my family and i don’t know how i’m gonna do it. please give me some good advice. cause i’m scared.

My wife is from Akron, and from what I’ve seen of Ohio, I like it a lot! Nothing to be scared of, really. Where in Ohio are you going?
I do know that there is some racial unrest in Cincinnati though; but other than that, Columbus, Akron and Cleveland are decent enough cities. The rural areas and small towns outside the big cities are quite lovely, and there’s a lot of natural beauty in Ohio.
Well I don’t know anything about Ohio but I do know what its like to move out of a state and leave my family. My advice to you is no matter how home sick you get stick it through. The first year will be really hard. I moved to Virgina about 2 and half years ago and it took me about a year to get over being home sick. Now it took me about 2yrs to feel like I belonged here. It is really hard to move to a new place and get plugged in. Especially when most people have there own friends, so they aren’t so open to going out of their way to make new friends. Try to be friendly and take initiative because if you don’t friends aren’t just going to fall on your lap. I was fortunate enough where I had my husband and children, but even still I craved friends and it was really hard at first. Well hang in there.
It’s so scary leaving home and parents behind and friends behind. You go far away from home. Call your parents once a week and write to them. You will go back for the holidays. They will miss you as well. You will have new expierences and before you know it you will be making new friends. Don’t worry there are pleanty of kids just like you going there just as you are. And they are scared they might not look as they are but they are. Your not the only one in the same boat. Good luck and you will be fine!
it’s normal to be scared. Once you get there and meet some class mates who are in the same situation as you, you will get in the swing of things
