This Question Is From: Pharmacy Technician Schools in Florida and has 2 Answers
I’m a senior in high school and have applied to a bunch of pharmacy schools.
I heard FAMU didn’t have a straight 6 year pharmacy program then someone told me it did. I thought there were no straight 6 year pharmacy schools in florida? Does FAMU need the PCATs?

FAMU is a 6 year school. If your accepted into the program as a freshman you need to complete all your pre reqs and maintain a 3.0 your freshman and sophomore year. (pre-pharmacy). If you do this your pretty much guaranteed a spot into the professional program, however at end of your sophomore year you do have to complete another application and interview. Also submit and unofficial transcript. We accept 150 students in to the professional program. To give you and idea we accept about 300 freshman a year and due to whatever circumstances failing classes…ect you lose about half if not more of those freshman come around the end of your sophomore year. That leaves on average 120-150 students left to matriculate into the professional program (the remainder 4 years). Transfer students are also accepted into the professional program. And as of right now no the PCAT is not req. but it will be soon. Its a great school word of advice visit the college of pharmacy before istening to others.we
