This Question Is From: Pharmacy Technician Schools in Massachusetts and has 1 Answer
I am a junior and my GPA from 9th and 10th grade is a 3.5. For 11th grade for the 1st marking period I have a 3.8 and I got a 710 on my Math Level 1 SAT IIs. I am taking my SAT for the first time this Saturday. I am going to visit colleges in April during spring break.
I want to go into Pharmacy. I live in NJ and I do not want to go too far. My list so far is in this order of preference: Rutgers, USP, and then Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Northeastern. (Is Northeastern better or Mass. of Pharmacy?) Should I call up these schools for their visiting dates or are they always open?
When I do my applications how many schools should I apply too? I have 4 so far. What are some other really good Pharmacy Colleges/Schools in the Northeast (not too far from NJ)?
Thank You.

I’m a student at Mass College of Pharmacy. I know the deadline is Feb. 1. The pharmacy program is relatively easy to get into as a freshman (acceptance rate ~ 70%) and much more difficult as a transfer (~5%). It’s a huge weed out process. If you start out there it’s a 6year pharmD degree. If you transfer with a degree then it’ll take you an additional 4 years after your BS.
Northeastern is a post baccalaureate program. You need a BS to apply and it’s basically like grad school. It’s much smaller (~50 students per class, as opposed to >300 at MCP) but you’ll likely get much more one on one attention.
I know MCP has tour groups all the time, so I would check that out. I like it here. I’m a little older (26) and entered with a degree so my opinion may differ from people your age, but I like it here. People are friendly and supportive.
I hope this helped a little.
