This Question Is From: Pharmacy Technician Schools in Georgia and has 2 Answers
I got accepted to both university of georgia and georgia tech. I have the biggest trouble deciding between the two. I am not very fond of math and science, but it is manageable for me. I took Ap Chemistry, Ap Physics, and Ap Biology in high school and was able to get A’s in all the classes. I am also taking AP Calculus..although i depise calculus, i was still able to pull off an A.
Here’s my problem. I do not intend to be an engineer. However, I like Tech for its Atlanta location and its reputation.Furthermore, people keep telling me that if i graduate from Tech, it will be easier for me to find jobs. However, a major con is that the courses are so rigorous at Tech, and people go crazy studying.
On the other hand, UGA is very well known for being a party school. Most kids don’t care for their education and come home drunk all the time. The con is that I did not get into the Honors Program, so I don’t know if it’s worth going there. However, UGA does offer a wide variety of career-oriented programs that Tech does not.
I don’t know what I want to do in the future. I thought about pharmacy…UGA has a pharmacy school….Although i do not think i will do anything related to engineering, I might find something I like at Tech……
I was wondering if i can get some tips…i feel so clueless and frustrated

I can only talk from personal experience at UGA, but it’s a pretty good school. The bio and physics classes aren’t too difficult, but the chemistry classes are known as “weed” classes, so you really have to study to do well in the them.
As for being a party school, plenty of people party. UGA gets a bad rep because of it’s Greek life. There are plenty of non-greeks and plenty of people who study hard and still have a good time. The Honor’s program is difficult to get into, and it’s easier to get into after your first year here if you’re doing well in your classes. If you’re interested in research opportunities, you should try to get in honor’s after your first year to apply for the CURO program. I’m not in the honor’s program, but I love most of the classes I’ve taken. The professors are great, and I’ve had lots of opportunities. UGA is big on helping you out with anything you need, and if you don’t know what you want to do in the future, there’s plenty of interesting classes to take! Best of all, you can use your extra Hope scholarship hours for any fun classes you may want to take.
Pharmacy students have a six year program. I don’t know much about it, but the people I know in it all have future jobs lined up.
I really love UGA’s location. It’s less than an hour and a half from Atlanta, and Athens is a great college town. I haven’t met anyone who didn’t love it.
As for Tech, I have a friend there. I know it’s very study intensive and the classes are much more difficult, but she likes it a lot.
If I were you, I’d visit both campuses and talk to the students. I’m sure they’d be more than willing to give you honest feedback that the visitor center employees might not.
Good luck!
