Should I major in Biochemistry for Pharmacy Career will it prepare me for my field. Is this major extremly hard? What is a good major for Pharmacy other than this?

Bio-Chem is probably the best major for becoming a pharmacist. and yes, it is a hard major.

Go around to the drugstores and ask a few Pharmacists for some advise. They would be happy to meet you.

i would suggest that you major in a science … preferably biology, if you want to go into pharmacy. with a bio degree you can enter many field should you decide not to go into pharmacy.

They have just opened up two new pharmacy school in my area due to the expected demand for pharmacists on the near future. So competition will be heavy. I have read news articles that state some companies court pharmacy students while they are still in school. So if an extra course in biochemistry can give you a leg up above the others, that maybe a good ideal. It would not hurt to contact a company and asked that what they look for in candidates.

Go for pharmacy if that interests you. The job prospects are good long term.

Ive heard its usefull to do a biochemistry major for pharmacy, but i don’t think it really matters depending on where you live. I live in Canada and you can apply for pharmacy school after first year, however most people dont get accepted until their in third year. My friend wants to be a pharmasist and she went and talked to her local pharmacist and he told her to do a degree in nursing because even if you dont become a pharmacist you”l stil get a job. Pharmacy school is really compatative to get into, I live in Ontario Canada and uo until this year their was only one pharmacy school in teh whole province!! (know there’s 2) lol. But do whatever you feel is best. Remeber study something you like cause then you’ll do well in it and will have a higher chance of getting into pharmacy school.
