Ok, guys! I applied to UMKC School of Pharmacy for fall 2010. They are changing their program, which is one of the reasons why I am applying. Plus, my mom and sister lives in the area and I definitely want to be close to my family during this time in my life. I did 6 years in the air force as a pharmacy technician and currently in the AF reserves. I am a CPhT-been certified since 2006. I have an extensive background as a pharmacy technician and was in charge of controlled substances, high cost medication, infection control monitor, crash carts, etc. I was inducted in Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society in 2007. I had a 3.8 GPA, but I failed a pre calculus class at another university due to personal reasons. I explained that in a typed letter to UMKC. I am shooting for a 4.0 this semester, which should boost my grade back up to a 3.6. I have not taken the PCAT yet-will taking in January. I also have a few extracurricular activities. I am so afraid that the failed class will hurt my chances of getting in, even though it is not a prerequisite. What do you think my chances are of getting in? I am trying to shoot for above an 80 on my PCAT and will be taking the Kaplan online course this Christmas break. Help???
