This Question Is From: Pharmacy Technician Schools in Illinois and has 4 Answers
So I am a high school senior and am thinking about applying to University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. For the application process, it requires that I choose a major. I can’t tell what to choose between Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry-science and letters, or Chemistry-specialized curriculum. They all seem very similar to me. So if anybody can help me choose which major would be best for pharmacy, I would be VERY grateful! thanks for your help and time!

chemistry. i can only see biochemistry be more useful for your pharmacy goals, but if you were to deviate from them, a chemistry degree has a lot more opportunities out of college than bio or biochem majors. its always nice to have a back up plan.
Any major as long as you take the required courses for pharmacy school (varies by school). I would suggest you pick a major that that you’re most interested in. I know of some very good pharmacist who didn’t even major in any of the sciences.
For pharmacy it’d be chemistry, though you will inevitably need courses in all of those subjects.
Based on my experience with friends in pre-med go into the chem area. It is rougher but the chem majors I knew had more opportunities than the biology majors when their plans changed
