This Question Is From: Pharmacy Technician Schools in Ohio and has 2 Answers
I would like to get my Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) and then go on to grad school to get my PharmD. I live in Ohio and think I want to stay in state but I can’t decide on that even! My stepmom is trying to convince me to go to UNC but I don’t know if I want to go that far and don’t want to let her control my decision. And I want college to be as affordable as possible also. Please, any suggestions?

UNC has one of the top Schools of Pharmacy in the country. If you can get in, you can count yourself lucky. Your step-mother is right.
Since you know about the BSPS degree, you probably already know the Schools of Pharmacy in your area. One often overlooked school is LECOM, in Erie, PA (probably because the School of Pharmacy is co-located with a School of Osteopathy).
Your basic decision between High School and University is whether to take regular studies towards a Bachelor’s degree (BSPS or other), or to sign up for a “Guaranteed Admission” program (commonly 2+4). The advantage of the 2+4 program is that you don’t have to worry about the PCAT. The disadvantage is that your options are narrowed very early. In your area, Purdue has a 2+4 program. Virginia Commonwealth University has one also.
Incidentally, if your step-mom is paying for your school, she gets final say, period. If you don’t like that, you need to wait until you are emancipated and paying your own way.
look up the colleges in your area and look at their website for how much to pay for a year…go from there…andd you still in high schhool?
cuz you coould get a Biology or chemistry degree and go t pharm. schhool. or even straight to pharmacy schhool, cuz PhamD is good 6 year program.
