Next year i will be going to pharmacy school. Im fairly certain i will be able to get in most places that i apply to. I live in Michigan, but my girlfriend lives in Wisconsin. I only see her several times a year and she misses me dearly. Ferris pharmacy school is about 2 hours away from where i live, and was where i originally had planned to go. However, the University of Wisconsin-Madison pharmacy school is about an hour away from where my girlfriend lives. They are both very good pharmacy schools from what i hear. My girlfriend has urged me to go to Madison, that way i will be closer to her and she can visit almost every weekend. I am still unsure however, because being farther away from my family would mean being farther away from help and missing family functions. Money is also not a real issue as although out of state tuition applies for the first year, Madison has cheaper regular tuition so it pretty much evens out. What is everyone’s thought on my situation?

Follow the love train and go to UW-Madison (assuming she is really important to you). For help from your family, there is always the telephone, and for family functions (once or twice a year), you can always drive back from Madison (Madison to, say, Detroit is 8 hours or so), or you could get a cheap flight from Chicago to Detroit — you didn’t say where in MI your family is, but I am assuming not in the UP…
